Professional Membership recognises people who have achieved at least an RQF Level 5 qualification or higher in Arboriculture or a related discipline, operating with an advanced level of arboricultural knowledge, responsibility and professional judgement.
Successful applicants can use the post-nominals MArborA and the Professional Member logo.

Is Professional Membership right for me?
Professional Membership is intended for experienced people who apply advanced arboricultural knowledge in their work.
Professional members work across contracting, consultancy, tree management, local government, policy, education, research and other areas of arboriculture.

Eligibility and Application Routes
Qualification and experience route
This route is for applicants who:

Hold an accepted RQF Level 5 or higher qualification in arboriculture or an appropriate related subject

Have at least two years’ relevant industry experience in a senior role
Applicants with a related subject or non arboricultural qualification may be asked to provide evidence of relevant arboricultural experience and CPD.
Assessed route
This route is for experienced professionals who can demonstrate the required knowledge and competence through a portfolio of evidence.
Applicants through this route will typically have substantial arboricultural experience, often around ten years, including experience in a senior or responsible role.
Your portfolio must demonstrate knowledge and experience across the required areas of arboricultural practice.
Maintaining your grade
Technician members must complete and record at least 13 hours of arboricultural CPD each year.
You must also continue to follow the Arboricultural Association’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.

Become a Professional memberProgressing to Fellowship
After maintaining Professional Membership for at least five consecutive years, you may be eligible to apply for Fellowship.
Fellowship recognises not only experience and knowledge, but also a significant contribution to arboriculture and the work of the wider professional community.
